I come from a background of ecological field research in aquatic and terrestrial systems. My PhD work involves quantifying mortality rates and patterns of migrating juvenile salmonids, focusing on coho salmon. This includes mark-recapture estimation of survival probabilities, large-scale acoustic telemetry monitoring under the POST Project, quantifying small-scale mortality patterns with mobile tracking (working with Villy Christensen), building detection probability models, and using individual-based simulation models to optimize information gain from study design. |
