Amy Poon B.Sc., M.Sc. (U.B.C.) |
Amy Poon received her B.Sc. from the University of British Columbia, where she studied Environmental Biology and English. Her interest in environmental issues began with her summer work at Environment Canada, where she studied air quality in the Lower Fraser Valley.
Amy completed her M.Sc. in 2005 at the Fisheries Centre in association with the Department of Resource Management and Environmental Studies at UBC. Her research, which strove to provide an estimate of ghost fishing of crabs and lobsters by traps, was featured in the Vancouver Sun.
In addition to her research interests, Amy is also an avid writer and a competitive dancer; at the UBC Gala Ball, she received two silver medals.
