MISS PACMAN

Eight students from the Fisheries Centre recently attended the Maritime International Student Symposium on Pacific Management (MISS PACMAN), held April 12-14, 2002, at the University of Washington's fabulous Pack Forest conference facility in Washington State. The conference was an opportunity for students from five Pacific coast universities to meet and present their research on management of marine resources. Participating universities were UBC, University of Washington, Washington State University, Oregon State University and Simon Fraser University. The conference was such a success that the Fisheries Centre proposes to host the conference next year. We hope to attract students from University of Victoria, University of Northern BC and University of Alaska as well as students from the five original participating universities

Around 40 students from UBC, UW, Oregon State University, SFU and Washington State University attended the conference

The food was tasty and plentiful. Coffee break - at all times of the day... and the beer was on tap (but not all day)
